Lawn Fertilization and Weed Control

At The Grounds Crew, we design fertilizer programs for your specific yard. Depending on the sunlight your yard gets, we can adjust the types of fertilizer to give your yard its best chance for looking good from spring through fall. This may also include weed control measures to help give your lawn its best possible chance to flourish and thrive.

Weed control can help your lawn maintain proper health, without pesky weeds standing in the way. We are proud to offer fertilizer and weed control application programs. Usually, our licensed team performs a five application sequence that is performed every 4-6 weeks. After each weed control or fertilization service, we blow off the street and driveway so that the chemicals don’t find their way into the sewer system.

Lawn & Landscape Maintenance Packages

Many of our services described above are offered as part of landscape maintenance packages. Typically, aeration, overseeding, and starter fertilizer are sold together. If you require full-service maintenance, we can also include a variety of services as part of your package, including mowing.

Our team can also provide landscape maintenance plans which involve shrub trimming, overseeding, clean-upsirrigation start-ups, irrigation winterization, and more. For more information on our landscape and lawn packages, contact us.

For any of our lawn care or landscape maintenance services, please ensure you remove all hazards and dog waste from your yard prior to your service being performed.

Lawn aeration and overseeding

Lawn aeration stimulates new root growth and helps develop a root system that is able to tolerate the stress of summer and those hard Minnesota winters. This service is usually completed in the spring or fall. Typically, one worker will spend about 20 minutes to an hour on your property to complete your lawn aeration.

Overseeding involves the planting of the seeds directly into existing turf. This can help create a full, healthy, and lush lawn, filling in any bare spots. We also offer starter fertilizer to get better results.

Dethatching

Dethatching can help improve the strength of your lawn. This process removes the excess thatch, organic matter that has accumulated, on your lawn. In turn, this promotes proper growth. For all our dethatching services, our team is trained to set the proper height so that we don’t go too deep into the lawn. We are also very careful with the use of any equipment or machinery so that we don’t tear up any corners or pieces of your lawn.
